It’s that time again: ‘Man-Tearing’ Cho Kyu-Sung (25-Midtjylland) has exploded for goals in the opening two games of the Danish first division.
Cho scored a first-half injury-time winner to give Mittwillan a 1-0 lead in the second round home match of the 2022-2023 Superliga against Silkeborg at the MCH Arena in Herning, Denmark, on Sept. 30 (ET).
Cho’s goal was scored in the 23rd minute of first-half stoppage time as the match was briefly suspended due to inclement weather.
It was his second goal in as many games, following a header in the Danish league opener against Hvidørre on Sept. 22. This time, it was with his feet. Cho fired a right-footed mid-range shot from the front of the penalty box in first-half stoppage time.
Cho was then replaced by Guinea’s Sori Kabbah in the 29th minute of the second half.
On July 27, he also made his European Championship debut. He played the first 45 minutes of the UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL) second qualifying round first leg against Progress Niederkorn (Luxembourg) and did not score a goal.
He was also named the Danish League’s Offensive Player of the Week for the first round. The midfielder was named to the first round’s best 11, which was announced by Superliga’s website on June 26. He was included alongside Matthias Kvistgarden (Brønnby) as the front two in a 4-4-2 formation.

Turkish striker Aral Simsir opened the scoring in first-half stoppage time (16th minute) and Cho Kyu-sung added a second in first-half stoppage time (22nd minute) to secure a 2-0 victory and a second straight league win.
