Ulsan defeated Jeonbuk 1-0 in the 27th round of the Hana OneQ K League 1 2023 at the Munsu Football Stadium in Ulsan, South Korea, on September 19 to take the lead.
Uhm Won-sang, who scored the game-winning goal and was named Man of the Match, entered the press conference with a smile on his face.
“The team hasn’t gotten a result in the last five games, and I think Hyundai’s win in the derby will lift the team’s spirits,” he said.

After scoring his first goal in about two months, Uhm Won-sang said, “It feels great to score against a rival in an important game,” but added, “I sprained my ankle again. I’ll have to get it checked out, but I don’t think it’s a big injury (yet).”
After the game, when asked if coach Hong Myung-bo said he didn’t want Uhm Won-sang to put any pressure on her, she replied, “That’s easier said than done, (but) I think he meant it as an encouragement to do well.”
“I didn’t want to show that I wasn’t in perfect shape, (but) there was only one situation where Cheong Yong-yi poked it in, and I took that chance. I didn’t realize it was a goal, but I heard the crowd cheering, and it felt great.”
Uhm Won-sang will try to accumulate offensive points in two consecutive matches against FC Seoul on Nov. 27.
