I’m trying to win two consecutive games by catching Taiwan… Coach Kim Pan-gon’s Malaysia aims to secure a bridgehead to the final WC qualifying round

Malaysia national soccer team head coach Kim Fang Gon has vowed to defeat Chinese Taipei to secure a spot in the final Asian qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA North American Cup.

Kim’s men face Chinese Taipei at 8 p.m. (ET) today at Taipei Munisipal Stadium in the second round of Group D of the North American Football Confederation (NACC) Asian Qualifiers. After starting their campaign on a high note with a 4-3 come-from-behind victory over Kyrgyzstan in a seven-goal thriller in Group D Round 1 on Sept. 16, Malaysia will look to build on their lead at the top of Group D with a win against Chinese Taipei.레모나토토 도메인

At the press conference for the match on Tuesday evening, Kim praised the quality of his opponent but emphasized the need to beat the Chinese Taipei. According to Malaysian outlet The Straits Times, Kim said, “Taiwan is strong at home. They are playing well under their new coach, Gary White. If we don’t overcome this challenge, we don’t deserve to go to the next level,” Kim said.

“If we don’t get three points from this game, we could be in a difficult situation. So our players are very motivated this time around.”

Kim, meanwhile, is not concerned about his team’s past history with Chinese Taipei, which has often been a source of frustration. “History is history,” Kim said. We have a new team and a new game,” he said. “Malaysia has a dream of reaching the final Asian qualifiers for the World Cup. To get there, we have to fight for every point. We will not back down,” he said.
